Westside German Shepherd Rescue of Los Angeles

Oliver von Sonnenschein is a gorgeous 9 month old mostly black German Shepherd whose parents are Schutzhund trained shepherds. The breeder who owned Oliver and his sisters was having health problems and found it necessary to give them up. Oliver is housebroken, knows some commands and is a very smart, very active young dog. He is not the kind of dog who will patiently wait for you to come home after work every day. He needs a home where he has something to do and is kept busy to prevent boredom. He gets along with some females, but no kitties, other pets or livestock please. Oliver's ideal home would be with an owner who has experience with large, strong, alpha personality dogs, who will continue his training and teach him where his place is in the pack. Because he is still a big puppy who has some more manners to learn, he shouldn't be in a home with small children. His leash manners are great and he is very well behaved in the car, he just lays down and snoozes while you're driving. We could see Oliver working in search and rescue or as another type of service dog where his intelligence and energy would be put to good use.
